“Paving of the central avenue near the Sokolniki station of the north-eastern section of the Big Circle Line (BCL) of the Moscow Metro has been completed as part of the landscaping”, said Andrey Bochkarev, Deputy Mayor of Moscow on Urban Planning and Construction.
Mosinzhproekt Group of Companies is a general designer and general contractor to build new lines and stations of the Moscow Metro.
“Red clinker bricks have been laid on 1.14 hectares of landscaped area near the Sokolniki BCL station. Ventilation kiosks are cladded with the same material”, said Andrey Bochkarev.
The head of the Construction Complex specified that the general readiness of the main landscaped site near the Sokolniki BCL station is estimated to be 95%.
Yuri Kravtsov, General Director of Mosinzhproekt JSC, added that small architectural forms will be installed next spring together with landscaping and planting of trees and shrubs.
“The two-colour large slab granite paving of the two metro exits and the surrounding area is almost complete. The street lighting is being fully installed. The construction of multi-purpose sports grounds on Gastello Street and Popov Passage is underway”, said Yuri Kravtsov.
In addition to Sokolniki, the north-eastern BCL section includes the Rizhskaya and Maryina Roshcha stations under construction, a connecting line to the Nizhegoroskoye electric depot, and the already built Aviamotornaya, Lefortovo and Elektrozavodskaya stations, temporarily operating as part of the Nekrasovskaya line.
The construction of the Big Circle Line is the main project of the Moscow Metro construction. Its length will exceed 70 km, and it will accommodate 31 stations, 22 of which are already servicing the passengers.
Previously, Sergei Sobyanin, Mayor of Moscow, had a technical launch of the north-eastern section of the Big Circle Line (BCL) of the Moscow Metro.
“The construction of the Big Circle Line has entered its final stage. Today, we are launching the north-eastern section. This is a trial run. This is one of the most challenging sections in the history of metro construction. In the near future, before the end of the year, we will have technical launches of the eastern and southern sections. We will have to prepare nine metro stations and 11 running tunnels for launching. In addition, the two largest electric depots should to be completed and launched to operate the entire BCL complex,” said Sergei Sobyanin.
