PRE-COMMISSIONING ACTIVITIES ARE IN PROGRESS AT THE NEW MAINTENANCE PERSONNEL FACILITY AT THE NIZHEGORODSKAYA HUB

It includes the recreation areas for the metro employees

“Construction completion of an integrated facility for the maintenance personnel (IFMP), being part of the Nizhegorodskaya transport interchange hub, is at its advanced stage”, said Andrey Bochkarev, Deputy Mayor of Moscow on Urban Planning and Construction.

Mosinzhproekt Group of Companies is one of the operators of the hub development programme in Moscow, and the management company in charge of the project implementation.

“Construction and installation activities at IFMP, being part of the Nizhegorodskaya hub, are completed. Pre-commissioning of the engineering utilities and life support systems: fire alarm, ventilation, smoke removal, air conditioning and despatching is in progress. Besides, they are being integrated into the transport management system of the metro and MCC. Simultaneously, handover of the premises to the State Unitary Enterprise (SUE) Moscow Metro is being done, with the remarks from the operations services being dealt with”, specified Andrey Bochkarev.

According to the Deputy Mayor, following the commissioning of the transport interchange hub together with the Nizhegorodskaya metro station in 2020, which integrates the Nekrasovskaya and Big Circle metro lines, the transfer to the same-name MCC platform is ensured on the “dry feet” principle.

General Director of Mosinzhproekt JSC specified that the opening of a new integrated facility for the maintenance personnel with a distribution level for passengers is the next stage in line with development of this hub.

“Owing to the commissioning of the new IFMP, the Muscovites and visitors to the city will be able to quickly and conveniently transfer from the metro station and the MCC platform onto the Nizhegorodskaya station of the Gorky direction of the Moscow Railway, which will be integrated into the new Moscow Central Diameter (MCD-4). In addition to the passenger area, the new facility will have the work and recreation areas for the personnel of the metro and Russian Railways operations services”, specified Yuri Kravtsov.

General Director of the Engineering Holding added that the work related to development of the transport interchange hub will move on: in addition to the already opened public space including the park, improvement of some part of the surroundings will continue, as well as seasonal landscaping pertinent to the warm season.

It is noteworthy that the Nizhegorodskaya hub is the largest transport interchange hub not only in Moscow, but in Europe as well. It comprises the same-name MCC station, the Nizhegorodskaya station on the Big Circle and Nekrasovskaya metro lines, as well as the suburban train platforms and ground transportation stops. As a symbol of connection of three lines, i.e. the operating circle line, the BCL under construction and the MCC, the Moscow Rings stele is installed nearby the station. The commercial part of the hub will accommodate a shopping center, offices, the public service center “My Documents”, as well as an underground parking and park-and-ride lots.

In the framework of the Interaction and Cooperation Agreement signed in October 2021, the delegation represented by Yekaterinburg Administration visited the facilities of Mosinzhproekt Group of Companies, including the Nizhegorodskaya hub. Administration of the capital of the Sverdlovsk region is also interested in Moscow’s experience in terms of creating the transport interchange hubs, being not only the transport infrastructure objects, but rather the points of growth, new centres of public and business life in the cosmopolitan city.
