SECTION OF THE HIGH-SPEED DIAMETER FROM GRAYVORONOVSKAYA STREET TO SHOSSEYNAYA STREET IS 30% COMPLETE

It will connect districts Nizhegorodsky and Pechatniki

“The section of the Moscow High-Speed Diameter (MSD) from Grayvoronovskaya Street to Shosseynaya Street is almost one third complete”, said Andrey Bochkarev, Deputy Mayor of Moscow on Urban Planning and Construction.

Mosinzhproekt Engineering Holding is a general contractor and general designer of several sections of the High-SpeedDiameter.

“43 out of 44 supports have been erected for the 1.5-kilometre flyover of the MSD’s main road route which will pass over Lyublinskaya Street, Kursk railway line, Volgogradsky Avenue and Shosseynaya Street, connecting Nizhegorodsky District and Pechatniki”, said the Deputy Mayor.

According to him, the construction of the flyover, and, in particular, launching of the flyover superstructure is being carried out with non-stop traffic.

“Launching of the superstructure is carried out on three sections: over Kursk railway line, over Volgogradsky Avenue and over Shosseynaya Street, more than 10 thousand tons of steel structures have already been mounted: it is about 35% of total scope of work”, specified the head of Moscow Complex of Urban Planning Policy and Construction.

Yuri Kravtsov, General Director of Mosinzhproekt JSC, recalled that the total length of the section roads is 10.4 km with five flyovers being built here.

“12 out of 16 supports of the flyover for the left-turn exit from the High-Speed Diameter to Volgogradsky Avenue towards the Moscow region, with a length of more than one and a half kilometres, are complete. The superstructure is also being installed here”, added Yuri Kravtsov.

The head of the engineering holding specified that 14 out of 15 supports of the flyover for the left-turn exit from Volgogradsky Avenue to the MSD’s main road route towards Kashirskoye Highway were also erected.

According to the head of Mosinzhproekt, the work to alterate cable lines in the section is more than 50% complete.

Earlier, Sergei Sobyanin, Mayor of Moscow, announced about the decision to stitch together the North-Eastern and South-Eastern Chords into a new city highway under a name of the Moscow High-Speed Diameter. According to the Mayor, the high-speed diameter will relieve the major highways in Moscow and improve the environmental situation.

“It’s an alternate transport reality. It is to relieve the Moscow Automobile Ring Road, the Third Ring Road, and a huge number of roads that run in the south, east, and north of Moscow and are most heavily congested. It is also an alternate environment: reduction of 20 percent in harmful emissions because there is no overmileage, less traffic jams and so on”, said Sergei Sobyanin.
