SOBYANIN INSPECTED CONSTRUCTION OF YUZHNOYE ELECTRIC DEPOT

Mr. Sergei Sobyanin, Mayor of Moscow, visited the construction site of the future Yuzhnoye electric depot and inspected the progress of work on the facility construction.

The Mosinzhproekt Group of Companies is a general designer and general contractor for the construction of new lines and stations of the Moscow Metro.

“The largest metro car operation and repair complex in the country is being constructed in Brateevo. We completed the first phase in 2013 and the second phase will be finished this year. All major works must be accomplished. The complex should be fully operational next year. This is important both for the Zamoskvoretskaya line, on which the new metro cars will go, and for the Big Circle Line”, said Mr. Sergei Sobyanin, according to the ‘Moskva’ CNA.

In turn, Mr. Konstantin Maslakov, Director General of MIPSTROY 1 (the leading construction unit of the Mosinzhproekt Group of Companies) informed that 1.2 thousand people and 55 units of equipment were involved in the construction of the Yuzhnoye electric depot.

“The overall construction readiness is 39%. The work is being done in parallel on all the main buildings and structures of the depot”, noted Mr. Konstantin Maslakov.

Recall that the Yuzhnoye electric depot is designed for stabling, repair and maintenance of rolling stock of the Zamoskvoretskaya line of the Moscow Metro. The area of 13.6 hectares will accommodate 33 buildings and structures of various functional purposes. The depot will be designed for an overnight stabling of 25 trains and maintenance of 30 trains per day. It will create more than a thousand jobs here.

11 electric depots have been constructed or reconstructed in the capital city with the participation of the Mosinzhproekt Group of Companies during the past 10 years.
