Thus, they discussed measures to maintain and increase the pace and volume of construction in Russia, and issues related to further development of the industry.

“Under difficult conditions that exist today, it is important to support the construction industry, as it is the driver of the entire economy and provides a powerful integrated effect for the entire economy of the country. And the Russian government has already adopted a number of unprecedented support measures. Thus, the intensification of the construction industry will enable to reduce unemployment. A comprehensive approach to the development of the construction industry in Moscow enabled to achieve pre-pandemic levels of unemployment”, said Artem Kiryanov, Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Economic Policy.

The conference included a discussion on digitalization in the construction industry. The Moscow authorities have been working in this direction for ten years, reported the Press Service of the Moscow Complex of Urban Planning Policy and Construction.

“More than 50 projects are being implemented in the Moscow Construction Complex using information modeling technologies. This is the result of extensive work on the digitalization of the construction industry”, stressed Sergei Zolotarev, Head of the Department for Scientific and Technical Support of the Construction Industry of the Department of Urban Planning and Construction.

According to Dmitry Chumachkov, Director of State Budgetary Institution “GlavAPU”, thanks to digitalization the paper flow of Moscow designers and architects has decreased by almost 60% – from 20 to 9 thousand sheets per month since the beginning of this year.

Participants of the conference also discussed the need to exchange experiences between the key market players and prepare specific offers, on the basis of it, for state and regulatory agencies to develop effective mechanisms for infrastructure development in the Russian regions.

“Over the past decade, advanced metro construction technologies have been successfully implemented in Moscow, in particular, machine tunnelling of double-track tunnels, top-down construction method in the conditions of a compact urban area, underground monitoring system for safety works, increased protection against vibration for tracks. Several dozen domestic companies operate as our partners, so we can assess the level of Russian developments and used materials for the import substitution policy.
