“A number of facilities of the future sports cluster within the developing territory of the Mnyovnikovskaya floodplain are at their active project stage. The total area of sports facilities will be about 400 thousand square metres”, said Andrey Bochkarev, Deputy Mayor of Moscow on Urban Planning and Construction.
Mosinzhproekt Engineering Holding is the operator of several major urban development projects (UDP) in the capital, including the Mnyovnikovskaya floodplain territory.
“Developers are preparing design documentation for a number of facilities, including an ice hockey academy, the Wave Surfing Park, an ice arena for figure skating and others. The formation of a large sports cluster will be an important stage in the development of the floodplain as an additional point of attraction, a centre of social activity, in demand among Muscovites,” informed Andrey Bochkarev.
The Deputy Mayor recalled that the 350-hectare Mnyovnikovskaya floodplain territory planning project also includes residential, public, administrative and business development, educational facilities and park areas. The facilities are implemented both at the expense of the city budget and by private investors.
Yuri Kravtsov, General Director of Mosinzhproekt JSC, noted that the development of this major urban development project in the capital will result in the creation of 30 thousand jobs.
“The territory development project also covers its transportation accessibility, as well as the sports infrastructure being created. Two stations on the Big Circle Line, Mnyovniki and Terekhovo, are already open. Furthermore, architectural concepts for two road bridges and two pedestrian bridges that will connect the floodplain with Krylatskoye and Filevsky Park districts have been developed, and competitions for their design are expected to be announced in the near future”, specified Yuri Kravtsov.
Competitive procedures are also planned to select contractors who will construct an intra-block street and road network of more than 11 km in length.
