As the best transport infrastructure project
The section of the Big Circle Line of the Moscow Metro, opened to passengers in 2020, as well as the section of the Nekrasovskaya line and Nizhegorodskaya transport interchange hub, won an international competition of the National Association of Surveyors and Designers (NOPRIZ). This was announced by Yuri Kravtsov, General Director of Mosinzhproekt JSC. Mosinzhproekt Engineering Holding is a general designer and general contractor to construct new lines and stations of the Moscow metro.
“The section of the Big Circle Line with three stations, Aviamotornaya, Lefortovo and Elektrozavodskaya, is recognized as the best implemented project in the field of transport infrastructure in the relevant category of the NOPRIZ competition. These three stations are now temporarily operating as part of the Nekrasovskaya Line and will be integrated into the BCL once the eastern and north-eastern sections of the Big Circle Line are commissioned,” informed Yuri Kravtsov.
According to him, the construction of Elektrozavodskaya on the Big Circle Line of the Moscow Metro was carried out in difficult hydro-geological conditions and required unique engineering solutions. One of the station’s track walls is decorated with a panel entitled “Battle of the Heroes” by artist Alexander Rukavishnikov. Lefortovo reflects the history of the same name Moscow district. The architectural and artistic design of Aviamotornaya is based on aviation themes.
The construction of the interchange to the same name station of the Kalininsko-Solntsevskaya line is now underway at the BCL Aviamotornaya station. The construction of the interchange is also underway between the Elektrozavodskaya station of the Big Circle Line and the Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya Line of the Moscow Metro.
The section of the Nekrasovskaya Line from the Yugo-Vostochnaya station to the Nizhegorodskaya station shared first place with the BCL facilities in the category “The best implemented project in transport infrastructure.” The third project, the Nizhegorodskaya transport interchange hub, won as “The best implemented multifunctional project.”
“The Nizhegorodskaya TIH will provide interchanges between different types of transport: the two metro lines, Big Circle Line and Nekrasovskaya, as well as the MCC, suburban electric trains, ground urban transport. It is the largest transport and interchange hub not only in Moscow but in Europe and one of the most interesting in terms of the architecture of the urban transport infrastructure,” said the head of the holding.
According to him, all three facilities were winners of the annual competition “The best implemented project in the field of construction” held by the Moscow Complex of Urban Planning and Construction.
Yuri Kravtsov also recalled that projects of Mosinzhproekt Engineering Holding have repeatedly reached the finals of the prestigious MIPIM Awards for real estate. Two of the projects, Zaryadye Park with Moscow Concert Hall Zaryadye and Palace of Gymnastics in Luzhniki, were the winners. In 2021, Moscow Clinical Center for Infectious Diseases ‘Voronovskoe’ entered the finals of the MIPIM Awards.
This year, almost 1000 applications were submitted for the 24 nominations in the international competition of the National Association of Surveyors and Designers from all federal districts of Russia, as well as from Great Britain, Poland, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Transnistria, and Uzbekistan. The NOPRIZ competition is supported by the State Duma, the Russian Ministry of Construction, Housing and Utilities, the Moscow Government, the Russian Academy of Sciences, and other scientific organisations, universities, and professional associations.
