THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE INTERCHANGE BETWEEN PROSPEKT VERNADSKOGO OF THE SOKOLNICHESKAYA LINE AND BCL STATIONS IS NEARING COMPLETION

The transition for the passengers will open simultaneously with the new station of the Big Circle Line

“Construction of the interchange between the future Prospekt Vernadskogo station of the Big Circle Line (BCL) of Metro and the same name station on the Sokolnicheskaya Line is almost complete”, said Andrey Bochkarev, Deputy Mayor of Moscow on Urban Planning and Construction. Mosinzhproekt Engineering Holding is the operator of the Moscow Metro Development Program.

“The construction of the interchange from the BCL to Prospekt Vernadskogo station of the Sokolnicheskaya Line is already in a high degree of readiness. More than half of the openings in the bearing wall have been dismantled, and the readiness of the reinforced concrete structures is over 90%,” said Andrey Bochkarev.

According to him, the transition for the passengers will open simultaneously with the new station of the Big Circle Line, and today the concrete structures of the transfer hub, including parapets, stairs, walls, and support beams are mounted on more than 80%.

“To date, as part of the construction of the stairwells, offices, and passenger areas of the interchange chamber 80 cubic meters of concrete of the planned 430 are left to lay out,” explained the Deputy Mayor.

In his turn, Yuri Kravtsov, General Director of Mosinzhproekt JSC, added that as part of the construction of Prospekt Vernadskogo, a new BCL station, the installation of utility systems is nearly complete.

“At the moment the installation of ventilation systems is nearing completion, including the smoke exhaust system; the electrical switchboards are equipped and the steel structures for pulling cables are installed,” specified Yuri Kravtsov.

According to him, the architectural finishing of the station is also already at a high level of readiness.

The Big Circle Line is the flagship and most ambitious project of modern metro construction in Moscow. It is assumed that 31 stations will be placed on 70 km of the circle, 12 of which have already opened.
