THE EASTERN SECTION OF THE BCL OF THE MOSCOW METRO IS BEING CREATED BY 3D MODELLING

“3D modelling is applied to the Klenovy Bulvar, Nagatinsky Zaton, Pechatniki and Tekstilshchiki stations and three near-tunnel structures of the eastern section of the Big Circle Line (BCL) of the Moscow Metro”, said Andrey Bochkarev, Deputy Mayor of Moscow on Urban Planning and Construction.

Mosinzhproekt Group of Companies is a general designer and general contractor to build new lines and stations of the Moscow Metro.

“A single 3D model was created for each station, which also contained attributive information for each of its elements”, said Andrey Bochkarev.

According to Yuri Kravtsov, General Director of Mosinzhproekt JSC, QR codes for quick access to the information model are located in the premises where the most important engineering systems of the stations would be located.

“The clear 3D visualisation and the ability to analyse the data save a lot of time, both for management decisions and for the project in general”, specified Yuri Kravtsov.

Mikhail Nadot, Deputy General Director for Engineering of Mosinzhproekt JSC, added that the use of digital technologies saved time spent to transfer information on paper.

“Digitalisation makes it possible to phase out the use of paper drawings, estimates and other documents”, said Mikhail Nadot.

The Deputy General Director also reminded that the Mosinzhproekt Group of Companies was working on replacing foreign software and equipment by domestic similar products.

The eastern section of the BCL includes the Klenovy Bulvar, Nagatinsky Zaton, Pechatniki and Tekstilshchiki stations. The section is about 11 km long. Its opening will improve the transport accessibility for a number of districts in the south-east of Moscow.
