THE FACADE GLAZING OF THE NATIONAL SPACE CENTER’S BUILDINGS IS UNDERWAY

“The facade glazing of the buildings of the low-rise part of the National Space Center (NSC) continues, about 15,7 thousand square metres of modular translucent facade structures have already been installed”, said Andrey Bochkarev, Deputy Mayor of Moscow on Urban Planning and Construction.

Mosinzhproekt Group of Companies is implementing the National Space Center project on behalf of the Moscow Government and Roscosmos State Corporation.

“The total facade area of the entire building complex, including the high-rise part, is more than 140 thousand square metres, around 110 thousand of which are translucent structures made mostly of modular facade systems. The use of modular systems significantly reduces the time required to produce construction and installation work”, said Andrey Bochkarev.

Yuri Kravtsov, General Director of Mosinzhproekt JSC, specified that the approval of the design solutions and the choice of materials for the future facades were based on full-scale samples.

“In addition to installing the facade structures, the low-rise buildings are also being fitted with utilities such as water supply, sewerage, ventilation, heating, cooling and fire extinguishing systems, and the installation of cabling and cable trays has been started. The roofing, interior walls and partitions are also underway”, added Yuri Kravtsov.

Recall, the total area of the NSC building complex is more than 250 thousand square metres. The complex of buildings and facilities of the National Space Center includes a 47-storey tower with a height of 288 metres, a low-rise part – 8 buildings with 8 to 10 floors, a three-storey congress and business centre building and an underground parking. All buildings of the NSC will be connected to each other by a pedestrian gallery and bridge overpasses.
