Sergei Sobyanin, Mayor of Moscow, granted prizes in the field of architecture and urban planning to the authors of five most interesting projects implemented in the capital. Among them are those implemented by Mosinzhproekt Engineering Holding, operator of Moscow’s key urban development programs.
Thus, the winner in the nomination “The best architectural and urban planning solution for a transport infrastructure facility” was a team of the authors led by Timur Bashkaev, who developed an architectural solution for Mnyovniki station of the Big Circle Line (BCL), opened last spring.
Another significant project awarded in the nomination “The best architectural and urban planning solution for an administrative, business and commercial purpose” is the National Space Center, which is being built in the Filevskaya Poyma. The award for its architectural concept was received by UNK project bureau (UNK Project, LLC) headed by Yuliy Borisov.
“The facilities implemented by the holding shall be not only functional, but also aesthetically attractive for citizens. This is, first of all, a task for architects, and such awards show that authors of solutions cope with it with dignity”, said Yuri Kravtsov, General Director of Mosinzhproekt JSC.
The award for the development of the most expressive, original, high-quality architectural and urban planning solutions for capital facilities in Moscow was established in 2017. The winners are determined by the expert council led by Sergey Kuznetsov, the chief architect of Moscow, which includes the members of the Architectural Council of the capital, heads of major architectural bureaus and urban planning organizations of the city, media representatives. This year, 38 nominees have been selected from 140 applications. In total, 37 people have become prize winners over the past years.
Over the years Mosinzhproekt has introduced more than 105 km of metro lines, 51 stations and 11 electric depots as a general designer and general contractor to construct new lines and stations of the Moscow metro. As a participant in key programs for the development of the capital’s road network, the company is involved in the implementation of the project for the construction of a system of high-speed link highways (North-Western, North-Eastern and South-Eastern Chords and Southern Rokade). In addition, the holding has implemented the largest civil facilities of the capital, such as Luzhniki BSA, Irina Viner-Usmanova Palace of Gymnastics, Zaryadye Park with a concert hall, infection center in Voronovsky and others.
