THE INTEGRATED UTILITY SCHEME FOR THE TERRITORY OF THE KHRUNICHEV STATE RESEARCH AND PRODUCTION SPACE CENTER TO BE VACATED IS COMPLETE

The layout of the street and road network is already approved

“The integrated utilities scheme for the adjacent vacated territory of the Khrunichev State Research and Production Space Center is complete, which includes the approved layout of the street and road network”, said Andrey Bochkarev, Deputy Mayor of Moscow on Urban Planning and Construction. Mosinzhproekt Engineering Holding acts as the management company for the construction of the National Space Center and is the operator of the Khrunichev Center’s territory development.

“The integrated utility scheme for the vacated territory of the Khrunichev Center includes more than 100 kilometers of water supply, wastewater disposal, heat supply, power supply, gas supply, storm drainage, and communication networks,” said the Deputy Mayor.

According to the head of the Moscow Complex of Urban Planning Policy and Construction, the layout of the street and road network of the Khrunichev State Research and Production Space Center’s territory has already been approved. “The development of the street and road network involves the reconstruction of 1.8 kilometres of the existing road network, the construction of eight kilometres of district and local streets, as well as two road bridges,” the Deputy Mayor explained.

For his part, Yuri Kravtsov, General Director of Mosinzhproekt JSC, added that Mosinzhproekt JSC is currently developing architectural and urban planning concepts for these bridges in pooling agreement with foreign and national architectural firms commissioned by the Committee on Architecture and Urban Planning of the city of Moscow (Moskomarhitektura).

“Both bridges are planned to be four-lane with two lanes in each direction. The bridge to be built in the alignment of Novozavodskaya Street will be 440 meters long, the length of the bridge to be built in the alignment of Myasischeva Street will be 350 meters,” explained the head of the holding.

As part of the development of the adjacent 90-hectare territory of the Khrunichev Center to be vacated, it is planned to create a special economic zone, locate scientific and production cluster enterprises, establish a congress and exhibition center, renovation facilities, and develop social and transport infrastructure.

By decision of Sergei Sobyanin, Mayor of Moscow, Mosinzhproekt has been assigned with the functions of a territorial development operator for major urban development projects: beside the territory of the Khrunichev Research and Production Space Center being vacated, these are Mnyovnikovskaya floodplain, Administrative and Business Center (ABC) Kommunarka. The total area planned to be constructed is about 12 million square meters.
