THE MARYINA ROSHCHA STATION OF THE BCL IS ESTIMATED TO BE READY BY THREE QUARTERS

It’s the deepest station of the line under construction

“The deepest station of the Big Circle Line (BCL) of the Moscow Metro under construction, Maryina Roshcha, is more than 71% complete”, said Andrey Bochkarev, Deputy Mayor of Moscow on Urban Planning and Construction. Mosinzhproekt Engineering Holding is a general designer and general contractor to construct new lines and stations of the Moscow metro.

“The north-eastern section of the BCL is one of the longest and most complicated, and it houses the deepest station of the line under construction, Maryina Roshcha, which is 70 m deep. Currently, the station is more than 71% complete in general,” said Andrey Bochkarev.

According to him, active tunnelling is continuing in the underground part of the station: the tunnels have already been widened, openings from the right and left station tunnels to the middle tunnel are underway, and the installation of the main structures is in progress.

“The in-situ concreting has already been completed in the ground concourse, most of the exterior finishing has been done, the architectural and finishing works of the passenger area are 34% complete, and the interior utility systems are being installed in the service rooms,” explained the Deputy Mayor.

For his part, Yuri Kravtsov, General Director of Mosinzhproekt JSC, added that the construction of another station of the north-eastern section, Sokolniki, is 72% complete, with the main structures of the platform and lobbies already completed.

“Architectural and finishing works are underway in the concourses and the interchange zone to the station of the same name of the Sokolnicheskaya Line, internal utility systems are being installed, and the in-situ concreting on the ventilation duct and pedestrian exits is nearing completion. The third station of the section, Rizhskaya, is 62% complete: openings of the underground part are being constructed, the escalator supports are being installed, rough finishing of service and technical premises is being implemented, and the construction of the main structures of the lobby building enters its final straight,” said the holding head.

Recall that the north-eastern section of the BCL, in addition to the three stations under construction, includes the already completed ones, Elektrozavodskaya, Lefortovo, and Aviamotornaya, which now operate as part of the Nekrasovskaya Line. This section will provide new transport hubs for several Moscow districts at once.
