Tunneling is completed

“In-situ concreting at the Pykhtino station of the new section of the Solntsevskaya Line of the Moscow Metro is 75% complete”, said Andrey Bochkarev, Deputy Mayor of Moscow on Urban Planning and Construction.

Mosinzhproekt Engineering Holding is a general designer and general contractor to construct new lines and stations of the Moscow metro.

“Two stations are actively being built on the new section of the Solntsevskaya Line to Vnukovo Airport. The main structures of the Pykhtino station are 75% complete, and the finishing work is underway”, said Andrey Bochkarev.

According to the head of the Construction Complex, installation of the monolithic structure at the Vnukovo station is nearly one-third complete. Excavation work at the station is being completed and finishing work is ongoing.

“Tunnelling from the operating Rasskazovka station to Pykhtino is fully completed. The left transfer tunnel from Pykhtino to Vnukovo is nearly complete”, added Andrey Bochkarev.

Recall that Pykhtino and Vnukovo will be two stations located on the new section of the Solntsevskaya Line. Previously, Sergei Sobyanin, Mayor of Moscow, specified that once commissioned, the section of the yellow line under construction will improve the transport infrastructure of the Western Administrative District and New Moscow.

“When we complete this new section of the Solntsevskaya Line, the transport accessibility of the Troitsky and Novomoskovky Districts of Moscow (TiNAO) will improve, and Vnukovo will become the first airport in Russia with its own metro station”, said Sergei Sobyanin.
