“By the end of this year, it is planned to complete the construction of the pedestrian bridge as part of the Electrozavodskaya Transport Interchange Hub”, said Deputy Mayor of Moscow on Urban Policy and Construction Andrey Bochkarev. Mosinzhproekt Engineering Holding is one of the operators to implement the Transport Interchange Hub network program in the capital.
“At the moment, the relocation of utility networks has been completed in the area of all four pillars. 75% of the monolithic work on pillar No 4 has been completed. The steel structures of the bridge superstructure are being assembled. The main structures are scheduled to be completed in September and the facility is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2021,” said Andrey Bochkarev.
According to him, the bridge includes an arch-shaped crosswalk, supported by two intermediate piers, and two end support towers, combined with stairway structures.
“The total length of the pedestrian bridge will be 87 metres,” emphasized the Deputy Mayor.
For his part, General Director of Mosinzhproekt JSC Yuri Kravtsov explained that two passenger elevators with a carrying capacity of 1,000 kg would be installed at each stairwell in the support towers to ensure smooth and convenient movement of people with limited mobility and to move the luggage.
The head of the holding also added that the finishing materials of the pedestrian bridge were chosen to fit the surrounding buildings and meet the requirements of the Committee on Architecture and Urban Planning of Moscow. “The facades will be made of stained-glass windows, stemalite, and granite slabs,” specified Yuri Kravtsov.
Let us remind that a new pedestrian bridge will connect Rubtsovskaya and Semenovskaya Embankments.
