“The new section of the Solntsevskaya metro line from the Rasskazovka station to the Vnukovo station with a metro bridge over the Likova river is 56% complete”, said Andrey Bochkarev, Deputy Mayor of Moscow on Urban Planning and Construction.
Mosinzhproekt Group of Companies is a general designer and general contractor to build the new lines and stations of the Moscow Metro.
“The 4.9-kilometre section includes the Pykhtino and Vnukovo stations and a metro bridge across the Likova River. The flow-based construction method allows for uninterrupted work on the entire section, as well as more efficient use of equipment and distribution of work by construction teams”, said Andrey Bochkarev.
The Deputy Mayor clarified that the architectural and finishing work in the entire Pykhtino station complex, including the service premises, is one-quarter complete. The platform floor is lined with light grey granite and black Gabbro.
“The in-situ concreting at the Pykhtino station is more than 90% complete. Construction of the main concourse structures is underway, and concrete pouring is nearly complete on the station’s adjacency to the metro bridge. The three escalators that will connect the concourse to the platform have been installed. The station is more than 50% complete”, emphasised Andrey Bochkarev.
Yuri Kravtsov, General Director of Mosinzhproekt JSC, also noted that the Vnukovo station was being built in dense development, next to the existing facilities and utilities of the airport, the Aeroexpress station and the flyover to the departure area. The readiness of the station complex can be estimated at 45%.
“The main structures of the concourse are almost complete, the builders still need to finish the in-situ concreting in the cashier’s block and build the inclined tunnel of the escalator. Finishing work is underway in the concourse and traction step-down substation area, and installation of utilities will begin soon”, said Yuri Kravtsov.
According to the head of the engineering holding, the metro bridge across the Likova River is 83% complete.
“It will be the second longest metro bridge in Moscow: it will be 460 metres long, the structure will be supported by 23 pylons. The builders have already laid vibromats and crushed stone, the installation of the metal structure frame is three-quarters complete, and the fixing of decorative lamellae and track welding are underway”, added Yuri Kravtsov.
Recall, all tunnels between the Rasskazovka, Pykhtino and Vnukovo stations have already been completed. At the beginning of September, the ‘Natalia’ tunnel boring machine (TBM) completed the last tunnel of the section, which is over one kilometre long, between the prospective Pykhtino and Vnukovo stations. The TBM has finished at the construction site in front of the airport, near Vokzalnaya Square.
Commissioning of the new section of the Solntsevskaya Line will improve the transport services in the Troitsky and Novomoskovsky Administrative Districts (TiNAO) of Moscow, and Vnukovo will become the first airport in Russia with its own metro station.
Sergei Sobyanin, Mayor of Moscow, inspected the Vnukovo station of the Solntsevskaya Line under construction, where the tunnelling of the right running tunnel of the new section between the Pykhtino and Vnukovo stations has been recently completed.
“The tunnels have been fully tunnelled, the construction of the stations, the exits directly to the airport terminal and the Aeroexpress terminal is underway”, said Sergei Sobyanin.
