THE NORTH-EASTERN SECTION OF THE BIG CIRCLE LINE IS 90% COMPLETE

The Sokolniki station is in the highest degree of readiness

“The overall construction completion of the north-eastern section of the Big Circle Line (BCL) of the Moscow Metro is 90%”, said Andrey Bochkarev, Deputy Mayor of Moscow on Urban Planning and Construction.

Mosinzhproekt Engineering Holding is a general designer and general contractor to build the new lines and stations of the Moscow Metro.

“The Sokolniki, Rizhskaya and Maryina Roshcha stations are being constructed on the north-eastern section of the Big Circle Line. Each station is in a high degree of readiness, over 85%. Architectural finishing and installation of utilities are underway at the stations. The three stations are interchanges, and active work in the radial line interchange zones is in process”, informed Andrey Bochkarev.

The Deputy Mayor recalls, in addition to the three stations under construction, the north-eastern BCL section includes a connecting line to the Nizhegorodskoye electric depot and the Aviamotornaya, Lefortovo and Elektrozavodskaya stations, already being built, temporarily operating as part of the Nekrasovskaya metro line.

According to Yuri Kravtsov, General Director of Mosinzhproekt JSC, the Sokolniki station is in the highest degree of construction readiness among the stations under construction on the north-eastern section.

“Architectural finishing is completing on the platform section and finishing work is also underway in the two concourses. The construction of two interchanges to the Sokolnicheskaya Line is underway, and the utilities of the station are being installed”, added Yuri Kravtsov.

According to the head of the engineering holding, the installation of escalators linking the entrance concourse with the platform is completing at the Rizhskaya station. Finishing work and installation of utility equipment in the concourse are underway, the finishing of the interchange to the Kaluzhsko-Rizhskaya Line is also in process.

“The cast-in-situ structure of the platform section is being completed at Maryina Roshcha. The architectural and finishing work is well under way, with the finishing work of the concourse being nearly completed. The installation of the utilities at the station is underway”, Yuri Kravtsov also indicated.

In addition, the installation of escalators in the interchange area to the Lyublinsko-Dmitrovskaya Line starts at Maryina Roshcha.

The construction of the Big Circle Line is the main project of the Moscow Metro construction. Its length will exceed 70 km, and it will accommodate 31 stations, 22 of which are already servicing the passengers.
