There will be three more overpasses on the site
“The overpass across the Gorodnya River, being constructed as part of the South-East Chord from Marshala Shestopalova Street to Paveletsky direction of Moscow Railway, is in a high degree of readiness”, said Andrey Bochkarev, Deputy Mayor of Moscow on Urban Planning and Construction. Mosinzhproekt Engineering Holding acts as the general contractor and general designer of several sections of the South-East Chord.
“Currently, the decking between the fifth and sixth pillars of the overpass is being reinforced, as well as the reinforcement and concreting of fittings for the external safety fence is underway. The estimate of the total construction readiness of the object is 80%,” said Andrey Bochkarev.
According to him, in addition to the current overpass over the Gorodnya river, there will be three more overpasses on the site.
“The section is quite complex, with a dozen of artificial structures to be built on it,” stressed the Deputy Mayor.
In his turn, Yuri Kravtsov, General Director of Mosinzhproekt JSC, explained that all three overpasses of the section are also under active construction.
“The overpass through Kotlyakovsky Ruchei is more than fifty percent ready: concreting of retaining walls and mounting of beams of the decking structure is underway, the deckings of the overpass through Kantemirovskaya Street are also being constructed, the overpass is finished at two thirds,” specified Yuri Kravtsov, adding that the installation of bored piles of the overpass through Kavkazsky Boulevard has started.
According to the holding head, the project of the eighth section of the SEC also provides for the construction of four underpasses near Bekhtereva Street, one of which is complete, and the other three are under construction, the reinforcement of walls on them is in progress.
“This section of the chord has also embarked on the construction of two wastewater treatment plants. Currently, the excavation is in progress on both sites,” specified the General Director of Mosinzhproekt.
The chord system of highways is a key mega project for the development of Moscow’s road and transport framework. Chords will connect remote areas of the city, lessening the load on the street and road network in the center, as well as on the Moscow Automobile Ring Road and the Third Ring Road.
