THE PROSPECTS OF THE CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY DEVELOPMENT ARE DISCUSSED AT THE CONFERENCE IN MOSCOW

“The two-day conference “Development of the construction industry in Moscow in conditions of turbulence: the case of Moscow” opened in the House on Brestskaya Street”, said Andrey Bochkarev, Deputy Mayor of Moscow on Urban Planning and Construction.

Experts discuss strategic issues of development and support measures for the industry in the current economic realities, the implementation of major urban programmes, digitalization and other relevant issues. Mosinzhproekt GC is the official partner of the conference.

The head of the Construction Complex noted that in recent years, the construction industry has been working in conditions of serious economic and social challenges: this is the pandemic coronavirus, which forced a review of many of the production and logistics processes, and the pressure that international sanctions currently impose on the real sector of economy.

“Despite all the difficulties, the construction industry of Moscow maintains a high rate of commissioning facilities of transport, residential, social and commercial infrastructure. Progress has been made possible by a series of administrative decisions taken at the federal and regional levels. Among them are subsidizing of mortgages, reduction of administrative barriers, stimulation of basic mechanisms of the industry, implementation of import substitution”, said Andrey Bochkarev.

The Deputy Mayor noted that now, the Moscow Construction Complex actively implements domestic software products for the design and organising shared data environment, continues to work on the simplification of document flow and digitalization of all processes.

“I am certain that thanks to all the decisions, the industry will be able to adapt successfully to the current difficult conditions”, added Bochkarev.

According to Yuliana Knyazhevskaya, Chairperson of the Moscow Committee for Architecture and Urban Planning, the current situation requires experts in the construction industry to adapt quickly, look for innovative solutions and new methods.

“The next two days will be a series of events that will allow experts from scientific and educational and public organizations, representatives of business and government agencies to share experiences and find together the new vectors for the work and development of the city”, concluded Yuliana Knyazhevskaya.

The conference “Development of the construction industry in Moscow in conditions of turbulence: the case of Moscow” will be held in Moscow on 11-12 July. Representatives of sectoral, expert and business communities, scientific and educational and public organisations, and also representatives of public authorities will take part in discussions, lectures and seminars.

The conference will be held with the support of the Moscow Complex of Urban Planning Policy and Construction and Committee for Architecture and Urban Planning of Moscow.
