“During the inspection of the Davydkovo station built on the South-West section of the Big Circle Line (BCL) of the Moscow Metro, representatives of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia on the Working Group expressed high appreciation for the design of the future station complex”, said Andrey Bochkarev, Deputy Mayor of Moscow on Urban Planning and Construction. Mosinzhproekt Engineering Holding is the managing company to construct new lines and stations of the Moscow Metro.
“Today, together with representatives of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia, we’ve inspected the progress of work on the Davydkovo station of the BCL. The station’s decoration is dedicated to MES employees and designed in the colors of the department emblem: a combination of white, orange, gray, and blue colors. Today it can be seen due to the ongoing architectural finishing of the passenger area, its readiness is estimated at more than two thirds,” said Andrey Bochkarev.
According to the Deputy Mayor, at the Davydkovo station, panel mounting is carried out on the walls – its readiness is 40%, and a bas-relief on the track walls with the motto of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia “Prevention. Rescue. Help” is ready halfway, and the ceiling of the station hall is being constructed.
For his part, Yuri Kravtsov, General Director of Mosinzhproekt JSC, specified that meanwhile, the finishing of service rooms is being completed at the station, its readiness is estimated at 95%, and installation of utilities and equipment is in full swing.
“‘The Star of Salvation’ fiber concrete panel depicting the icon of the Mother of God of the Unburnt Bush, the heavenly patroness of the MES, and the fire-observation tower, which is a historical prototype of the rescue service, is already at a high level of readiness in the ticket hall. Construction of metal structures of the ground pavilion has also started. Soon, it will be decorated by the ‘Heroes are Always Around’ stained-glass panel devoted to the employees of different department services. In the escalator zone, there will be art compositions devoted to the history of the organization,” explained Yuri Kravtsov, and added that the general construction readiness of the station complex today is estimated at 83%.
Valery Kivlyuk, Executive Director – Head of the Metro Construction Division of Mosinzhproekt JSC, and Sergey Velichev, Head of Investment and Construction Office of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia, as well as Salavat Shcherbakov, famous Russian sculptor and one of the authors of unique compositions of the station, took part in the event on the working group.
“We are satisfied with the pace and progress of the work being done. The decoration is designed to convey the main mission of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia: Prevention, Rescue, Help. And the color solution allows you to create an optimistic, bright area with important semantic accents and functional areas,” the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia noted.
The Davydkovo station is erected as part of the southwestern section of the BCL of the metro by open-pit construction method near the junction of Initsiativnaya Street to Aminyevskoye Highway with a single underground concourse.
The construction of the Big Circle Line of the Moscow metro is the main project of the modern Moscow Metro construction. The BCL will be 70 km long, with 31 metro stations placed on it.
