“A project is being implemented in the Mnyovnikovskaya floodplain to build a road network that will bring together all the facilities being created in the area and link them with the motorways in the north-west of Moscow”, said Andrey Bochkarev, Deputy Mayor of Moscow on Urban Planning and Construction.
Mosinzhproekt Group of Companies is the operator for a number of major urban planning projects (MUPP) in Moscow, including the Mnyovnikovskaya floodplain.
“As the MUPP operator, the specialists of the Mosinzhproekt Group of Companies, coordinate the integrated construction of roads, infrastructure and other facilities. The road network with a total length of about 11.7 km will also bring together park areas located all over the Mnyovnikovskaya floodplain”, informed Andrey Bochkarev.
The Deputy Mayor specified that two motor bridges and two cyclist and pedestrian bridges would provide transport accessibility to the developing area in future. In 2021, the Mnyovniki and Terekhovo stations of the Big Circle Line were opened in the territory of the floodplain.
Yuri Kravtsov, General Director of Mosinzhproekt JSC, noted that the road network construction project includes a flyover across the North-West Chord with exits to Nizhniye Mnyovniki Street and projected driveway No. 1165, which will integrate the intra-district road network of the floodplain into the urban motorway network. The area adjacent to the road network will also be landscaped.
“Design solutions to improve roadway and pavements will be coordinated with adjacent development areas. For example, it is planned to apply uniform design solutions in lighting and paving of walkways and pavements”, added Yuri Kravtsov.
Andrey Antipov, Deputy General Director for Large Urban Development Projects of Mosinzhproekt JSC, added that the road network project includes two terminuses with the terminal depot building and charging stations for electric buses, as well as three urban car parks.
“There will also be a collector over three kilometres long to accommodate utilities, and sewage treatment facilities will be established in the northern part of the Mnyovnikovskaya floodplain”, said Andrey Antipov.
The Deputy Director General recalled that the total area of the Mnyovnikovskaya floodplain was over 350 hectares. It will have residential, public and administrative-business development, a large sports and recreational cluster, and social infrastructure. The facilities are implemented both at the expense of the city budget and by private investors.
The Mosinzhproekt Group of Companies acts as an operator for a number of major urban planning projects in Moscow, such as the Mnyovnikovskaya floodplain, the vacated territory of M.V. Khrunichev Space Center, as well as the Kommunarka ABC in New Moscow. The total area of the facilities scheduled for construction exceeds 12 million square metres. Mosinzhproekt Institute, the head design organisation of the Group of Companies, is directly involved in the preparation of the project documentation.
