The general construction completion of the north-eastern section of the Big Circle Line is 72%
“The Sokolniki station being under construction as part of the north-eastern section of the Big Circle Line (BCL), is more than 70% finished”, said Andrey Bochkarev, Deputy Mayor of Moscow on Urban Planning and Construction. Mosinzhproekt Engineering Holding acts as the operator of the Moscow Metro Development Program.
“The in-situ concreting is being completed at the Sokolniki station of the BCL, as well as the interior walls and partitions are being erected,” said Andrey Bochkarev.
According to him, the general construction completion of the north-eastern section of the Big Circle Line, which includes Rizhskaya and Maryina Roshcha, along with Sokolniki, is 72%.
“The excavation and tunneling are almost complete at this site, the utility systems are being installed: pipelines, air ducts, cables and equipment, and finishing,” explained the Deputy Mayor.
In his turn, Yuri Kravtsov, General Director of Mosinzhproekt JSC, specified that the Sokolniki station complex includes interchange to the operating same name station of the Sokolnicheskaya line and two concourses.
“The main structures of the first concourse with interchange are more than 80% complete. The grappling between the station under construction and the operating station is scheduled to be completed by the end of the year. Due to the proximity to the operating section of the metro, the construction site is monitored around the clock,” added the holding head and said that the utility systems are installed, and the architectural and finishing works are approximately 50% complete.
Earlier, it was reported that the installation of decorative fixtures had already begun on the tunnel walls of the station under construction. The design of Sokolniki will be dedicated to the construction of the first stations of Moscow Metro: the relevant historical photos and posters will decorate the station.
Recall that there will be six stations on the north-eastern section of the BCL: Maryina Roshcha, Rizhskaya, and Sokolniki are currently under construction, and Elektrozavodskaya, Lefortovo, and Aviamotornaya are already open to passengers as part of the Nekrasovskaya Line.
