The main structures of the stations and the underground facilities have been erected
“The southern section of the Big Circle Line (BCL) of the Moscow Metro is about 90% complete”, said Andrey Bochkarev, Deputy Mayor of Moscow on Urban Planning and Construction. Mosinzhproekt Engineering Holding is the operator of the Moscow Metro Development Program.
“The southern section of the BCL is almost 90% complete. There will be three stations in the section: Novatorovskaya, Vorontsovskaya, Zyuzino. To date, the main structures of the stations and the underground facilities have been erected. Now the stations are being equipped with life support systems and train movement safety systems. Finishing work is in progress,” said Andrey Bochkarev.
According to him, the work at all three stations is nearing completion. In particular, cast-in-situ constructions are completely ready at Novatorskaya, the architectural finishing of the passenger zone is 84% complete, a suspended ceiling system and tunnel wall cladding panels are mounted, the installation of utility systems is coming to an end. In-situ concreting is finished at Zyuzino, the architectural finishing of the passenger zone is 87% complete, the installation of tunnel wall panel continues.
“In-situ concreting is nearly finished at the Vorontsovskaya station. The architectural finishing of the passenger area is in progress: a unique suspended ceiling is mounted, tunnel walls are clad in, column cladding and lighting fixtures installation is in progress,” added the Deputy Mayor of Moscow.
He also specified that non-standard techniques were used in the design of the station complex, for example, a suspended ceiling exercised in parametric architecture style imitating the Milky Way, and a new material such as agglomerate was used to implement the station cladding. At the same time, the walls of the concourse are decorated with white Polotskiy marble from the national quarries, which is durable and resistant to external influences and retains its natural whiteness for long.
The BCL construction is a key mega project of modern national metro construction. At the underground circular line with a length of 70 kilometers, there will be 31 stations so that the operating stations within it and the existing Circle Line of the metro will be offloaded.
