THE ZAMOSKVORETSKOYE DEPOT OPENED AFTER RENOVATION TO ENABLE MAINTENANCE ON THE BCL

In the future, the BCL will service two more electric depots

“The Zamoskvoretskoye electric depot re-opened after its partial renovation”, said Andrey Bochkarev, Deputy Mayor of Moscow on Urban Planning and Construction.

Mosinzhproekt Engineering Holding is the operator of the Moscow Metro development programme.

“The Zamoskvoretskoye depot in the south of Moscow was opened following its completed renovation. From now on, the electric depot will be fully transferred for servicing to the Big Circle Line”, said Andrey Bochkarev.

The Deputy Mayor noted, that also in the future the Nizhegorodskoye and Aminyevskoye electric depots will service the BCL. Currently, they are under construction.

“Earthworks are in progress at the site of the Aminyevskoye depot under construction, and builders have already started the main development stage of the facility. Completion of the Nizhegorodskoye depot, in turn, is estimated at two-thirds. Construction of these facilities is scheduled for completion in 2022”, added Bochkarev.

According to Yuri Kravtsov, General Director of Mosinzhproekt JSC, during the first renovation stage of the Zamoskvoretskoye depot, one connecting line was reconstructed.

“Five railroad switches were installed, the structural unit of the upper track was partially replaced, and communication systems and automation and telemechanics of train movement (ATTM) systems were brought up to date. Within the framework of the second stage, it is envisioned to launch a railway traffic on two new connecting lines, the tunnel-driving of which is already completed”, said Yuri Kravtsov.

Construction of the new and reconstruction of the old electric depots represents a crucial aspect of the Moscow Metro development programme. Depot ensures an uninterrupted and safe operation of the metro lines.

Over the past 10 years, 11 depots were built or reconstructed in the capital city.
