The tunneling is 94% complete
“The section of the Troitskaya metro line with five stations, from the Novatorskaya to the Bachurinskaya stations, is 44% complete”, said Andrey Bochkarev, Deputy Mayor of Moscow on Urban Planning and Construction.
Mosinzhproekt Engineering Holding is the managing company to construct new lines and stations of the Moscow Metro.
“Arrangement of retaining walls and excavation work on the site is almost complete. The tunneling of running tunnels is 94% complete. The construction of reinforced concrete structures and the rigid base of the track superstructure is underway,” informed Andrey Bochkarev.
The head of the Construction Complex recalled that the section of the Troitskaya Line from Novatorskaya to Bachurinskaya was fully designed using BIM technologies for the first time in the history of the Russian metro construction.
Yuri Kravtsov, General Director of Mosinzhproekt JSC, added that tunneling in the section is nearing the end. Eight out of ten single-track tunnels linking Novatorskaya, Universitet Druzhby Narodov, Ulitsa Generala Tyuleneva, Tyutchevskaya, and Mamyri are complete.
“The tunneling is underway between the Mamyri station and the Bachurinskaya station, which are currently under construction. “Darya” and “Evgeniya” tunnel boring machines have already passed a total of three quarters of the planned route,” the head of the holding specified.
The Troitskaya Line will run from the Moscow Central Circle (MCC) to Troitsk, New Moscow. It will be almost 40 km long. The line is expected to be used by around 100,000 people daily.
