TUNNEL DRIVING BETWEEN THE MAMYRI AND BACHURINSKAYA STATIONS OF THE TROITSKAYA METRO LINE IS COMPLETED

The shield drove through over 2.5 km a depth of 13 to 28 metres

“On the Troitskaya line of the Moscow metro, currently under construction, tunnelling of the right running tunnel between the Mamyri and Bachurinskaya stations is completed”, said Andrey Bochkarev, Deputy Mayor of Moscow on Urban Planning and Construction.

Mosinzhproekt Engineering Holding is a general designer and general contractor to construct new lines and stations of the Moscow metro.

“The right running tunnel was driven from the future Mamyri station to the Bachurinskaya station, which is being built within the area of the administrative and business center in Kommunarka, of the future Troitskaya metro line”, said Andrey Bochkarev.

The Deputy Mayor noted that the work was carried out using a tunneling shield “Eugeniya” of a Chinese origin, with a diameter of 6 metres.

“The shield drove through over 2.5 km of soil, from light clays and heavy loams at a depth of 13 to 28 metres, and entered the dismantling and shield chamber near the Bachurinskaya station under construction”, Bochkarev specified.

As per Yuri Kravtsov, General Director of Mosinzhproekt JSC, the single-track tunnel was drilled through the area of the Novomoskovsky Administrative District (NAO) along the Kaluga highway, from the village of Mamyri to the settlements of Gazoprovod and Kommunarka.

“Earlier, ‘Eugeniya’ took part in construction of tunnels in the south-western section of the Big Circle Line, which was opened to passengers last year in December. Construction of the neighboring left running tunnel from Mamyri to Bachurinskaya is being carried out by TBM ‘Darya'”, added Yuri Kravtsov.

The Troitskaya metro line will run from MCC to the city district of Troitsk. Its length will be over 40 km. As expected, the line will be used by about 100 thousand people on a daily basis. In overall, more than 1 million people are living within the reach of the new line, with several hundred thousand more working or studying there.
