The works are carried out at a depth of 7 to 18 meters
“Tunneling between the Mamyri and Bachurinskaya stations on the Troitskaya metro line under construction is accomplished by two-thirds”, said Andrey Bochkarev, Deputy Mayor of Moscow on Urban Planning and Construction. Mosinzhproekt Engineering Holding is a general designer and general contractor for construction of the new lines and stations of the Moscow metro.
“We proceed with construction of the sections on the Troitskaya metro line. Within the area of New Moscow, tunneling is currently under way on the run between the soon-to-be stations Mamyri and Bachurinskaya”, said Andrey Bochkarev.
According to him, two tunnel boring machines designed for building single-track tunnels are used on the run, with a diameter of six meters each.
“Shield “Daria” drove more than 1.6 km, which is 64% of the length of the left running tunnel. And the right tunnel is driven by 72%, i.e. shield “Eugenia” advanced by more than 1.8 km”, Bochkarev added.
Yuri Kravtsov, General Director of Mosinzhproekt JSC, noted that the length of the run is a little over 2.5 km.
“Track of the tunnels passes through the territory of Novomoskovsk district: from the village of Mamyri to the settlement of Gazoprovod, along Kaluzhskoe highway. The works are carried out at a depth of 7 to 18 meters, mainly in light clays and heavy loams”, said Yuri Kravtsov.
The Troitskaya metro line of around 40 km long will connect the urban district of Troitsk in the Troitsky and Novomoskovsky Administrative Districts (TiNAO) of the capital city with the Moscow Central Circle (MCC) stations. It is envisioned that its daily passenger flow will amount to as much as 100 thousand people per day. About 1 million people live near the new stations, with several hundred thousand more working or studying in the immediate vicinity of the line under construction.
