The facility participates in the nomination “The best project in the Health Sector,” said the Head of the Moscow Stroykomplex, Andrey Bochkarev
Built in record-setting time, the project of the Moscow Clinical Center for Infectious Diseases ‘Voronovskoe’ was among the finalists of the prestigious international MIPIM Awards 2021, said the Deputy Moscow Mayor for Urban Planning Policy and Construction Andrey Bochkarev. Mosinzhproekt Engineering Holding is the facility’s general contractor and general designer, while the customer is ANO RSI.
“The Project of the Voronovskoe Infectious Diseases Hospital has reached the finals of MIPIM Awards. This is a very significant event for us. We understand that the buildings of the medical complex lack outstanding architectural value. However, our main purpose of the project was functionality, reliability, and long-term service. It is important for us that the Jury of the contest highly appreciated the social significance of the facility as well as the feat accomplished by the builders, who created a fully functional autonomous hospital from scratch within a month, in which the doctors saved more than 12,500 lives over the course of a year,” said Andrey Bochkarev.
He also explained that the facility is competing in the Best Healthcare Development nomination. The results of the MIPIM Awards will be announced this autumn at the MIPIM international property event hosted in France.
MIPIM Awards is one of the most authoritative and significant in real estate and urban development. A total of more than 170 applications from 36 countries were received. The project’s reaching the final is already a worthy assessment of the project in such serious competition,” emphasized Andrey Bochkarev.
The Head of the Moscow Stroykomplex reminded that the best Moscow construction specialists were involved in constructing the infectious diseases hospital: more than 27 contractors, 11,000 builders, and 1,500 units of equipment.
According to Yuri Kravtsov, General Director of Mosinzhproekt JSC, the hospital in Voronovskoe can accommodate up to 900 patients. Each bed can be transformed into an intensive care unit within a day.
“The hospital built in record time was necessary for the capital to fight the pandemic promptly. So, this hospital can be called a symbol of solidarity of Moscow builders and a joint feat with doctors and other specialists fighting against COVID-19 in the most acute crisis period. Therefore, to be among the finalists of the MIPIM Awards 2021 is very prestigious, especially with such a socially important project as the infectious diseases hospital, equipped with the latest medical equipment and capable of serving the city for more than a decade,” stressed Yuri Kravtsov.
He also added that this is not the first time that the projects of Mosinzhproekt Engineering Holding participate in MIPIM Awards competition. “Previously, our significant projects have reached the finals of the competition three times, and two projects became winners of the MIPIM Awards: in 2019, Zaryadye Park together with a concert hall was awarded a special Jury Prize, and in 2020, Irina Viner-Usmanova Gymnastics Palace in Luzhniki was recognized as the winner in the nomination “The Best Cultural and Sports Facility.” I want to emphasize that such international recognition confirms the high level and quality of our work,” he stressed.
Established in 1991, the MIPIM Awards is an internationally renowned competition in the world real estate market. The Jury of this competition honors the best real estate projects completed or under construction.
