ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT

Minimizing negative impact on the environment, rational use of natural resources at all stages of the work is a priority of Mosinzhproekt Holding. Mosinzhproekt Holding has developed and implemented an integrated management system in quality, occupational health and safety, and environmental protection with its fundamental element Policy in quality, occupational health and safety, and environmental protection. In addition, local environmental regulations of Mosinzhproekt Holding were developed and successfully applied to ensure compliance with the expanded environmental requirements by the company’s employees, subsidiaries and affiliates, contractors, and subcontractors.

Environmental aspects

To ensure a unified methodological approach to identifying environmental aspects of Mosinzhproekt activities, products and services carried out following the requirements of ISO 14001, a methodology for identification, ranking, and management of environmental aspects has been developed in Mosinzhproekt Holding.

The resulting data on the management of significant environmental aspects are used:

  • During the assessment of the environmental management system
  • During the analysis of the integrated management system
  • During the analysis of the integrated management system

Environmental goals

To ensure that the company’s employees, subsidiaries and affiliates, contractors, and subcontractors comply with the expanded environmental requirements at the construction sites of Mosinzhproekt Holding, environmental goals and green rules have been defined until 2022:

Environmental goals for the construction period

  1. 30% – reduction of the share of waste sent to landfill
  2. 90% – reduction in charges for excess exposure to environmental components
  3. 100% – identification and ranking of environmental aspects

Green rules

At the entrance to the object, all equipment, construction equipment, and vehicles must be in the good technical condition

Banned:

  • Equipment downtime with the engine running “at idle” continuously for more than 2 minutes
  • Operating machinery and vehicles with open hoods

ALLOWED:

  • Storage of dusty materials (soil, sand, crushed stone, etc.) only using a hydrophobic covering material (tarpaulin, film, or similar)
  • Loading/unloading dusty materials (soil, sand, crushed stone, etc.) applying activities to minimize dust formation (humidification, unloading in a warehouse, etc.)

The performance of the environmental management system of Mosinzhproekt Holding, i.e., its ability to achieve the set goals, is assessed based on production environmental control data, reports on the management of significant environmental aspects, and the course of annual internal audits of the integrated management system. If necessary, corrective measures are developed to ensure compliance with the requirements of internal regulatory documents of Mosinzhproekt Holding in quality, occupational health and safety, and environmental protection in terms environmental protection.

Continuous improvement

To develop the culture of management and production of works, Mosinzhproekt improves the environmental knowledge and culture of its staff and trains managers and specialists responsible for ensuring environmental safety.

Environmental programs, initiatives, and projects of the holding

Following the requirements of the environmental legislation of the Russian Federation and taking into account global trends in environmental protection, Mosinzhproekt Holding Company, its subsidiaries, and affiliates, contractors, subcontractors have separate collection and accumulation of waste.

The office of Mosinzhproekt Holding implements measures for the separate collection of plastics and rechargeable batteries.

Regularly, Mosinzhproekt’s Environmental Protection Department specialists participate in meetings and discussions of topics related to environmental protection.

Mosinzhproekt Holding operates following the project documentation, which has passed the expert examination, in compliance with all compensatory measures in the event of a negative impact on the components of the environment.
